The Work Sharp WSKTS MK.2 is an updated version of the WSKTS electric sharpener that allows you to sharpen all types of knives and tools, while providing greater convenience, better control and speed of work.
The WSKTS MK.2 was developed based on the experience and success of the WSKTS sharpener, offering better functionality and ease of sharpening. Using the flexible abrasive belts of the WSKTS MK.2, you can sharpen not only smooth-edged knives, but also serrated and curved knives, tanto blades, filleting knives, skinning hooks, scissors, axes, lawnmower blades and other tools with cutting edges.
Changes compared to Generation I:
- Two operating modes: fast for grinding, standard for precise sharpening,
- modernized guide with 2 sharpening angles of 20° and 25° with leather inserts,
- integrated 65° guide for sharpening scissors.
Two operating modes
The new two-speed motor has two modes of operation: a standard low-speed mode, which provides more control when sharpening a knife, and a high-speed mode, which provides the power needed to sharpen heavy and hard tools such as lawnmower blades, axes and other common tools used for lawn and garden maintenance.
This functionality guarantees full control over the sharpening process and allows the belt speed to be adjusted depending on the work being done, i.e. grinding and deburring, finishing and polishing.
Angle guarantee
Instead of two interchangeable guides, the second-generation sharpener has one attachment with two sharpening angles: 20° and 25°. This allows for convenient sharpening of kitchen and outdoor knives without having to reposition the guides and prevents losing one of them.
An additional convenience is the use of leather inserts, which protect against scratching and gently polish the edge when pulling the blade through. The lower blade guides have also been modernized to help maintain the factory blade profile. The flexible design allows the guides to deflect, ensuring that the entire length of the blade is sharpened. The advantage of this solution is that it is more convenient to sharpen knives with a pin on both sides. Thanks to the possibility of removing the guide, WorK Sharp WSKTS MK.2 also allows for grinding large tools and technical blades, e.g. axes and lawnmower blades.
The Work Sharp WSKTS MK.2 Electric Sharpener can be used to sharpen, among others:
- pocket knives and everyday knives,
- hunting knives with a skinning hook,
- large outdoor knives,
- serrated knives,
- kitchen knives,
- filleting knives,
- single-sided edge knives,
- axes and cleavers,
- spades and secateurs.
Professional sharpening with abrasive belts
Professional knife makers use belt grinders and flexible abrasive belts to sharpen their products. With the Work Sharp WSKTS MK.2 electric sharpener, we can use this professional method at home and ensure that our tools are perfectly sharp. Abrasive belts allow you to quickly and precisely sharpen your knife to its factory sharpness without having to use expensive services. Depending on the condition of the cutting edge, we can use abrasive belts of 3 different grades for sharpening: 80, 220 and 6000 (included).
The set includes:
- 2 coarse-grained P80 belts made of aluminum oxide (for repairing and changing the cutting edge profile),
- 2 medium-grained P220 belts made of ceramic oxide (for actual sharpening),
- 2 fine-grained belts with a 6000 grit silicon carbide grit (for finishing and polishing).
Scissor guide
The WSKTS2-I model has an additional 65° guide for sharpening scissors. Sharpening by hand does not guarantee a symmetrical cutting edge. The guide allows you to quickly and professionally restore the sharpness of your household scissors whenever you need to.
