The Walther BWK 4 is a large outdoor knife with a folding blade, made of 440C stainless steel and a handle with walnut wood inlays. The knife has a 94 mm blade with a Japanese tanto. The blade has a straight cutting edge with a geometric kink and no belly, which makes the thrust very strong. This design guarantees efficient cutting, high tip strength and tactical knife styling. The back of the knife has a transverse milling that allows the finger to rest during work (thumb ramp).
The knife blade is made of the popular 440C stainless steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. Thanks to the increased carbon content, the steel is wear-resistant, retains its sharpness for a long time and can be sharpened relatively quickly and easily, which is important for a field knife. The blade is coated with a titanium protective layer, which provides additional protection against corrosion and contrasts aesthetically with the wooden linings.
The blade is folded out using two hands, by means of a nail nick. This classic solution has been used for decades, for example in pocket knives, and can be legally carried in most EU countries. When unfolded, the blade is locked with the popular liner-lock, valued for its durability and ease of use with one hand.
The knife has elegant walnut wood covers with a matte finish. The handle has a contoured shape with a distinct finger cut-out, which effectively improves the grip and comfort of use. The classic design is subtly broken up by the blue anodized liners and the clip, which can be attached to either side of the handle. The knife comes with a leather sheath with a wide belt loop and a snap fastener.
